Part of Keiko Mecheri’s Le Eaux Intenses range, Precious Forest takes us to an untouched forest. The coldness of a wild forest at night. The organic smell of woods, the living trees, rare timber and what lies beneath.

A time punctuated as much by its difference as by any tiny moments that happen there. The soil seems to slip away under each step and transport you through a surreal motion of olfactory exhiliration, to pass from one place – sandalwood, oudh, to another – incense and balms, and pass back into stillness. The quiet calm of the wild forest at night leaves us open in contemplation and reconciliation.

HOW IT WEARS

Precious Forest begins with the mouth watering smell of sweet toasted almonds with a slight dusting of rose before descending into the creamy, skin-like sandalwood and leather. The dry down is an echo of these notes grounded by rich, balsamic resins and animalic oud. The lasting power of this fragrance is incredible, about 8-10 hours on the skin.

Founded by its namesake in 1997, Keiko Mecheri is all about unconventionality and the reinterpretation of tradition in fragrance. Keiko herself was born in Japan, studied in Europe and then eventually settled down in Los Angeles, California, where she founded the brand.
